Title: Supporting Telematics over Vehicle Adhoc Networks
Abstract: VANET (Vehicle Adhoc Networks) is an implementation example of the future Intelligent Transportation System in our roadways. There is much work to be done to support telematics over such networks. After presenting the objectives, themes and projects of Auto21 (a research center supported by the Canadian Federal Government and the automobile industry), we discuss various vehicular telematic applications and their requirements. The architecture and requirements to support a heterogeneous VANET is proposed. The challenges, open issues and research directions are discussed. Various works related to the interest of the CCNR lab are discussed.
